It is my great privilege as Principal of St. Mary Private High School, Ras Al Khaimah (SMR) to welcome you to our school. Every day I am reminded through the actions of our students, parents and staff, how strong our sense of community and connectivity is at SMR. Visitors frequently express how positive our school culture feels as they walk around our amazing campus observing the students engaged in learning, participating in sport, being creative or just playing. Although we are a relatively new school, we benefit from the experiences and the strong reputation of the St. Mary’s Group of Schools (SMG), who have been operating schools in the UAE for the past fifty years. With the support of SMG and leadership of SMR, we have quickly established our school as the first choice for many families in the area.

At SMR, we not only prepare students to pass exams but prepare them for life, where they will thrive and succeed as Global Citizens of the 21st Century. To achieve this, we have built a state of the art campus where we offer opportunities to develop your child holistically which ensures academic excellence as well as diverse experiences gained from our extensive range of many extra-curricular activities. Not all learning happens in the classroom, many of our most memorable moments take place in the least likely places, including but not limited to assemblies, school events, the playground, school trips, sports competitions and many more non classroom activities. We recognise that every student is unique and there is no limit to what every student can achieve.

We offer a very affordable, continuous, international education which begins  in our Early Years Foundation Stage programme at the age of 3, all the way to the internationally recognised International General Certificate of Education (IGCSE) qualification in Year 11 at the age of 16. International GCSEs are globally recognised qualifications with academic content and assessment designed specifically for international learners. In due course we will offer the Advanced Levels ( A Levels), which the students will sit in Year 13, and lead to qualifications recognised for entrance to Universities around the world.

Close ties with families is at our core and the African proverb comes to mind, it takes a village to raise a child. Parents, students and the school have all responsibilities in ensuring success for every student. Visibility, honesty and communication is strong in our community and someone is always here to listen, advise and support our families.
